I am an immigrant ๐Ÿ‘จ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿ›‚. Sometimes, I try to imagine how horrible should feel to be prosecuted, by the simple fact that you have a different origin ๐ŸŒ, a different skin color ๐Ÿง‘or a different religion๐Ÿ™.

A few days ago, I learned about the story of the children ๐Ÿ‘ถ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ‘ง๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘ฆ of the “Vel d’hiv”๐Ÿšฒ❄️. Most of them from immigrant parents ๐Ÿ‘ช➡️๐Ÿ›‚.

They were condemned and separated from their family, just because they professed a particular religion๐Ÿ™. Most of them never came back home ๐Ÿ‘ง๐Ÿป๐Ÿšซ➡️๐Ÿก.

I could not help but to feel sad ๐Ÿ˜”. As an immigrant, I felt empathy for their stories.

I wanted to visit this place๐Ÿ“ to pay homage to their memory, because we might forgive but we should not forget.

We, as specie, should not forget the darkest pages of our history ๐Ÿ“œ to avoid reproducing the same horror again.
